Print Pile

Branding, Social Media

I used to look towards major cities such as Los Angeles and New York as blossoming hubs for independent artists and publishers and feel an innate sense of jealousy. Zine festivals, risograph printers, and independent presses seemed so abundant in specific cities, and it felt impossible to get access to these places locally. It was at Las Vegas’ inaugural comics and zine festival, known as Co-Zi Fest, when I realized there was not a lack of individuals in Las Vegas wanting to have their work seen, rather, it was a lack of a space to be seen.

Print Pile comes in tandem with this wave of independent artists asking to be seen in Las Vegas. As a portable zine library that aims to increase access to independent art and publishing, Print Pile is playful, flexible, and inviting. Print Pile is beyond the physical zine library; it also is a community hub on social media for sharing zines and holding in-person gatherings and workshops. Though starting as a humble utility cart, there is room for growth and transformation - much like how Las Vegas is seeing a surge in creative people raising their voices.
